The Journey of Drisya Marble
A Story of Vision, Resilience, and Innovation
In the heart of Elavampadam, a small town filled with simple dreams, a young man named Babu Peter had a vision that would change his life—and the lives of many others. His vision, nurtured through casual conversations with his cousins and friends, grew into a burning desire to start a marble company. In his early twenties, with little more than ambition and a determination to succeed, he took a leap of faith and began his entrepreneurial journey. Thus, Drisya Marble was born—a company founded on resilience, innovation, and a commitment to social responsibility.
The Humble Beginnings
It all started with an idea. During informal talks with his cousins and friends, the concept of starting a marble business was mentioned in passing, but it sparked something profound in Mr. Babu Peter. He saw an opportunity to create something unique, something that would stand out in the marketplace. Encouraged by this newfound vision and supported by his father figure, Mr. Babu Peter Kuruthu Kulangara, he took his first steps. In 1995-96, with a humble beginning at a small church in Elavampadam, he made his first sale, laying the foundation for what would become a legacy.
By 1997-98, the dream began to take shape with the purchase of property at Anjumoorthy Mangalam, Vadakkenchery. A modest 200 sqft showroom was inaugurated on March 19, 1999, by the local Panchayat President, Mr. Thambu. Despite starting small, Mr. Babu Peter had big dreams. However, the market was challenging, and the demand for marbles was gradually declining. Yet, he was not discouraged. Instead, he saw an opportunity to innovate.
Adapting to Change
By 2002-2003, it became clear that customer preferences were shifting away from traditional marble products. Rather than giving in to the changing tides, Mr. Babu Peter made a bold decision. In the last quarter of 2002, he introduced high-quality, unbranded tiles from Gujarat, marking the company's first major pivot toward modern alternatives. This decision aligned with the latest market trends and revitalized his business, setting Drisya Marble on a path to growth and expansion.
Between 2008 and 2010, the company further diversified its offerings by introducing branded premium-quality tiles. Mr. Babu Peter used his small 300 sqft office to educate customers about the benefits of these new products, building trust and loyalty among his clientele. By 2010, the product range had expanded to include well-known brands like Kajaria and Johnson tiles, along with sanitary wares and CP fittings, reflecting Mr. Babu Peter’s commitment to innovation and excellence.
Growth, Expansion, and Community Impact
By 2015, Drisya Marble had outgrown its initial space. The showroom, which began with just 300 sqft, was renovated and expanded to a sprawling 12,000 sqft, featuring a diverse collection of products. This expansion was not just about business growth; it was also about creating opportunities for the local community.
Mr. Babu Peter believed in giving back to the society that had supported his journey. As Drisya Marble grew, so did its commitment to social responsibility. The company began employing local talent, creating jobs, and empowering families within the community. Beyond employment, Mr. Babu Peter focused on philanthropy—supporting local schools, funding community projects, and helping the underprivileged. His belief that a business should serve its community became a cornerstone of Drisya Marble's values.
A Modern Leader in the Industry
By 2019, the brand’s expansion continued with the launch of a new showroom in Chittoor, further solidifying its position in the market. Drisya Marble had become a leader in the tiles and sanitary wares industry, known for its quality, innovation, and a deep commitment to social welfare.
In 2024, the company celebrated its transformation from a modest venture into a powerhouse, with a state-of-the-art 40,000 sqft showroom, a large warehouse, and a dedicated team of hundreds of employees. Drisya Marble was not just a business; it was a community, a family built on shared values of hard work, quality, and compassion.
Inspiring the Future
Mr. Babu Peter’s story is one of vision, courage, and relentless perseverance. From a spark of inspiration during casual conversations to building an industry-leading company, his journey illustrates that true success is about more than just profit. It’s about making a difference, supporting the community, and never giving up on your dreams.
Today, Drisya Marble continues to grow and thrive, carrying forward the legacy of a man who dared to dream big, adapt fearlessly, and lead with an unwavering sense of social responsibility. The company remains committed to innovation and excellence while also enriching the lives of those around it—proving that success is best measured not just in financial terms, but in the positive impact made along the way.
